Kyocera's
new diaphragm pump line (including the Kyocera SD 6-35, SD 3-70
and SD 12-30 pump systems) offers an inexpensive solution for remote
home and livestock watering needs. These systems require as few
as one photovoltaic panel for input power. In addition, while all
diaphragm pumps require yearly diaphragm replacement, the Kyocera
SD series offers a great advantage over competing designs by allowing
this maintenance to be performed with two standard tools -- and
in minutes, rather than hours, of downtime.

Kyocera's
centrifugal pump line (which includes the Kyocera SC-500 and SC-1000
pump systems) is designed to move water from greater depths and
in greater volumes. Applications for Kyocera SC-series pumps include
remote villages and crop irrigation. These pumps are an attractive
solution for any pumping need where power from the utility grid
is unavailable.
All Kyocera pump systems include Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT)
controllers for unprecedented efficiency. By ensuring the optimal
voltage/current combination at all times, these controllers maximize
available power to the pump -- increasing the volume of water moved
"per watt" and extending daylight operating times. As
a result, many pumping needs can be served with just one solar PV
module.
All Kyocera pump systems also feature a corrosion-resistant water
sensor (sold separately as the Kyocera model SS-100) which senses
the absence of water and helps prevent internal damage by ensuring
that the pump does not run dry.
