This Grid tie Utility Interactive system is located in Rio Rancho, NM. The 3.50 kilowatt PV system consists of 20 Sharp 175 watt mono-crystalline modules.
This PV system will provide the owner with an annual rebate check from their utility company of about $300. The household uses an average of 39 kilowatt
hours of electricity daily which is completely offset by the PV system. Payback period is 18 years utilizing Federal and State income tax credits.
The Low Profile Roof Ground mount was designed to secure five modules to the metal roof. This racking system provides for easy module access
for occasional cleaning.
An SMA 3800 watt inverter is utilized to convert sunlight to household AC power. The owner had it mounted in the garage on a 1" plate of plywood
(that he subsequently stained). The walls of the garage are 14" thick stucco covered straw bales, so our ingenious installers provided a mounting base
for the inverter by "sandwiching" the wall with 1" plywood on the interior and exterior, bolted together.
The billing meter was on a pedestal, so our resourceful crew mounted the production meter and disconnect on the same structure.
